Countries give importance to elections because of its repercussions. Taiwan just had theirs and the electorate elected their first woman president. United States will have their elections too this year so with the Philippines.
Campaign season is here to stay; are you ready electorate? The Poe-Escudero tandem will kick off their campaign on February 9, 2016 in Plaza Miranda, Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. The other political parties are raring to go.
As a voter, what is expected of you to be ready? Some tips might be in order:
- Be ready with you COMELEC ID card although the ones in-charge do not ask for it. Bring it just the same.
- Have a compilation of as many flyers. This way, you get to know y6our prospective candidates. There are many of them and in some instances many qualified candidates run for one office.
- Watch and listen over tv and radio programs. Sometimes the persona of the candidates comes out in the course of discussion among candidates.
- If you have an internet, surf. “Ignorance excuses no one.”
- Have a tentative list and retain or change as you get to know your candidates more and more.
