Imagine a house without cable connection. Not that it is between life and death . . . But for some it is! A day without cable is a blessing in disguise . . . sometimes . . .
Why . . . because we have so many gadgets in the home, the members of the family have one or two or three so at table or around the house. Everyone is present in that there are warm bodies but every member is looking at the gadget at hand so there is really no communication in the genuine sense of the word. We can rationalize but if we have to be really, truly, sincerely honest, we are focused on something else. Good for moms and dads who are somehow open to cell phone, laptops, androids and know how to manipulate each. How about parents who are not? Will the children manage to keep pace?
This scenario of being physically around each other but not talking in depth can go on forever. Then there is no cable because of many reasons and the family has to accept it if only overnight. Others can take it and so the family members come up with something to occupy their time. Others become irritated and the silence can be deafening.
Did this happen to your family? So in a way it is good there is no cable connection for the members of the family the problem that may arise. A day without cable is a blessing in disguise indeed . . . but only sometimes . . .
