Enlightening Day with GMP especially with Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero

It is not often that we get to see, hear and listen to candidates. The official kick off campaign period for Galing May Puso party is February 9 but January 30 allowed us to meet them up close.

To get to hear Senator Chiz is to meet a statesman, a well-rounded persona, a future Vice-President of the Philippines.

In the gathering of “Karancho” members, you are awed at how loved Senator Chiz by the group. One journalist asked the good senator why he wants to become Vice-President. He smiled and confidently said to the effect: ” I have legislated many bills but its execution is at a’ snail pace’ so it is time to shift from legislative to executive, that’s why I am running as Vice-President. . . ”

When asked about Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) Senator Chiz Escudero shared his assessment to the effect: “It is not well-discussed, not enough referendum from all sectors who might be affected, a little exclusive instead of inclusive . . . ”

As to Drugs, Senator Chiz Escudero said to the effect: ” Dangerous drug are becoming a threat to national security so it must be stopped. While there should always be due process when dealing with those who are caught, there should always be concern why this is happening. “Cain must look for his brother Abel” . . .

When asked if Federalism is good for the Philippines, he said to the effect: “It is not good for an archipelagic country such as ours. If there is clamor for Federalism then it should first be tested like in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and Cordillera.

Questions and answers can come and go but if your resource person is the future Vice-President, you have both word and action.
