When one is young the opportunities to bloom and conquer are endless. Professional state of life consumes the best of our time. Then the inevitable comes whether we like it or not: retirement years. Some prefer to remarry but others prefer active involvement in organizations to “pay forward” the gifts handed down by life’s chances.
For me, it is gardening. My children are very supportive of this new way to view life. At the side, we still go on with plans to travel but it is exciting to have ornamental plants, vegetables and fruit trees to take care of. It is like taking care of my children once again – through having the seeds grow into seedlings to their maturity and harvest their fruits. The happiness and fulfillment that go with it cannot be measured!
