PiliPinas Debates 2016 formally began in Mindanao

Today, February 21, Sunday became the formal launching of  the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) campaign for good and credible elections. This was also my “baptism” as twitter enthusiast and Social Media blogger. GMA7 and Philippine Daily Inquirer coordinated with COMELEC in bringing about the Debate in Mindanao, Philippines. The venue was Capitol University, Cagayan de Oro City.

The debate began at 5 p.m. and ended at 7 p.m. Every candidate was given time to give Opening Statement followed by presentations of their plans or perspectives, and focused on a discussion about poverty and what they can do to alleviate or totally eradicate it.

The time allotted was not enough as it would never be enough. What is important is that Mindanao has much to say in choosing the highest position of the land.  Being the first of the debates lined up by COMELEC, it served its purpose.

PiliPinas Debates 2016 was a success!!!Kudos to COMELEC, GMA7, Philippine Daily Inquirer, the candidates,  the audience and all the supporters.
