The President of the Philippinese finally admits: 3 months to combat drug menace is not enough!

The Filipinos, in general, know in their hearts that campaign period is a time to promise anything under the sun. As it happened, Rodrigo Duterte won with 16 million voters attesting it. One of his main promises is to stop criminality especially drug menace within 3 to 6 months.

July, August and September 2016, the Duterte administration came to power. With this changeĀ  came expectations. One of these is the onslaught of extra judicial killings. As this continues comes criticisms because of human rights which must always be respected. Data seem dificult to accept since victims reach thousands!

Today, the President of the Philippines finally realizes that the promise to stop all these problems canNOT be done within 3 to 6 months as promised. So he finally asks the Filipino people to give him another 6 months to stop the crimes.

Whether or not this will really and truly happen, only fate knows. I hope God will touch the leaders to do their job with Him in mind. After all, no one owns the life of another. God made man so He alone has the power to take back the life He gave.

In the meantime, some hostages were released by the Abu Sayyaf. A Norwegian, Kjartan Sekkingstad, was released and three (3) Indonesians. Good news in the middle of crises.
