3 Reasons To Hire An Investigator

There are many reasons to hire an investigator, but I want to give you a few reasons to do so and then I also want to introduce you to a local New Jersey-based investigator, who is the best in the area. If you are in the market for an investigator, or if you think that you might need one, but you are not sure, keep reading because this article is for you! Here are 3 reasons to hire an investigator:

Childcare

If you are considering hiring a babysitter or a nanny, you are going to want to make sure that the person you are looking into hiring is responsible, trustworthy, and does not have a criminal record, right? According to Bob Cowan, “Background investigations are essential when it comes to any New Jersey investigation conducted in order to protect the health, welfare and rights of children. Whatever type of NJ private investigation you need, you’ll want an experienced background investigator in New Jersey on the case, as it is a crucial aspect of any private investigation. The conducting of NJ background investigations also extends to other areas of concern. There are many other areas of people going about their daily business that are reliant on background investigations. Background investigations are certainly worth the expense in most business matters which could help avoid costly problems. As an experienced New Jersey background investigator, I have conducted my work in a myriad of situations.”

Now, hopefully, you will not avoid any costly problems when you have hired a babysitter or a nanny, but if you are trusting them to care for your child, you are going to want to do your due diligence before signing the contract to hire them.

A Cheating Spouse

Are you worried that your spouse or significant other might be cheating on you, or not being honest with you? If so, this is another reason that you might want to hire an investigator. I mean, even if there is nothing going on, your peace of mind is worth knowing that everything is okay within your relationship. If you do not get that peace of mind, I know how hard it can be to live with when you do not know if everything is okay or not. Unfortunately, if you think that something is wrong and not right within your marriage or relationship, most of the time your instincts are probably right.

But, to confirm this, you will want to get hard evidence to make sure that you are actually right and then you will be able to figure out how to best move forward in your relationship, no matter if that means getting a divorce or finding help in the form of counseling.

Alimony

Did you know that according to New Jersey law, you are not obligated to pay alimony to an ex-spouse who is cohabiting with another? A lot of the time, that spouse is not honest with you because they know that if they do admit to it, their alimony will be taken away. If your ex is not honest about their living situation, that is another reason why you should definitely hire an investigator. Sure, you could just go to court and try to get it worked out on your own, but why do that without hard evidence? It’s definitely not the smartest way to go about it. Bob Cowan says, “fortunately, in 2014, the New Jersey Legislature passed a bill that implemented long-overdue changes to the Alimony Law, leveling the playing field as it relates to cohabitation. Per the new law, even if the one receiving alimony is in a relationship with someone who maintains a separate residence, it is still possible to prove cohabitation and revoke the alimony you have paid as a violation of the divorce agreement.”

Cowan Investigations

While there are many other reasons to hire an investigator for your use, these are just three reasons why you might want to do so. But, when you are ready to hire someone, how do you know who to use? In my opinion, there is no other option other than Bob Cowan. He is the owner and primary private investigator for Cowan Investigations.

He has invested in the latest high-tech surveillance equipment, which allows him to gather the hard evidence you need so that you can determine how to best move forward in whatever situation you might be facing.

According to their website, some other investigators might have the same technology, they often lack the experience and expertise to use it properly.

Bob Cowan, however, definitely has that experience. He is the former Chief of the Jersey City Police Department. He has close to thirty-five years of law enforcement experience in New Jersey’s largest municipality and definitely knows the ins and outs of investigating. If you are looking for a private investigator for infidelity in NJ, an investigator for background checks, or more, I highly recommend looking into Cowan Investigations.

Try something new this year

Have you come to terms with the fact that it is 2019 yet? I know that I am still shocked. 2018 seems to fly by in the blink of an eye and so far, January of 2019 is doing the same thing, as well. It’s funny because with a new year comes new resolutions, but after the first couple of weeks, many people end up breaking these resolutions and do not follow through with them at all, so I decided to take a new approach instead of the traditional, hard resolutions, such as working out, eating healthy, and cleaning out each room in your home.

Instead, I am making a resolution to try new things and have fun. Each month, I want to brainstorm what I can do that is new and I’ll make it happen. I think this is easier because trying new things is a lot of fun compared to cleaning out a closet, or sweating each night, in hopes of losing weight. How will I start brainstorming? Well, I’ve broken it down into four things that sound fun: I want to try something scary, something fun, something healthy, and something beautiful. From there, I will think of new things that could fit into the category.

Although routines can be beneficial, I want to break out of my stagnant routine and break free and actually live. Huffington Post says, “Have you ever paused to consider the ease at which you follow daily, weekly, and annual routines? Most people wake up at the same time, eat similar things for breakfast, wear the same rotation of clothing, arrive at work at the same time, grab lunch with the same people, watch the same shows at night…yada, yada, yada.

Routines like these become so familiar that we often lose track of the fact that we’re just cruising through life. Despite the fact that we live in an enormous universe with seven different continents, nearly 200 different countries, more than 7 billion people, thousands of languages, and hundreds of thousands of unique experiences, we stick to what we know. Then we wonder why we feel stuck, stale, and stagnant.

Feeling stuck in place is totally normal. What’s not normal is to keep living the same way day after day and year after year. If you were driving through some muddy terrain in your car and your tires got stuck in a ditch, would you just sit there and spin your wheels? No, you’d do everything within your power to get out of the ditch and keeping moving.”

Something Scary

Doing something scary sounds…well, scary, but it can be so good for you. For example, if you are scared to talk in front of people, maybe take a class on public speaking. My friend, Alex, actually just got an opportunity to be hired for a speaking engagement. She has turned down many offers before this, such as the Pinners Conference (for three years straight), and quite a few other speaking engagements, as well, because of the fact that it scared her. But, with this one, she realized that she needs to break past that fear – what’s the worst that can happen? Doing something scary is so good for us because it allows us to not only break past our fears, but it allows us to meet new people and have less stress in our lives about certain things. Skydiving could be categorized as something scary and although it sounds and looks scary, I’ve heard so many people who have had the best experiences of their lives just by taking a chance and going for it.

Something Fun

The next category is ‘something fun.’ This is an never-ending category because I feel like there are always so many fun things I want to do. I know what my first thing is, though. I want to take dance classes at USA Ballroom! USA Ballroom is New Jersey’s Premier Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio and their classes look like they are so much fun! Something Healthy

This section is really important because you need to make sure that you are keeping up with your health throughout the year, in order to do the “fun” things on your list. This could be cooking for a week without going out, removing toxic products from your home, or even just going out and buying a bunch of house plants! It is whatever you make it and want it to be.

Something Beautiful

For this category, most everything I can think of includes travel. I want to travel all over the world, in order to see new, beautiful places. I can think of so many places I want to go such as Italy, Amsterdam, St. Martin, St. Thomas, The Bahamas, Maine, Florida, and so many other places, as well.

Improving Your Health As A Senior

As you age, you gain wisdom, confidence, and most of the time, happiness, but with those traits, some of us also gain backaches (or full body aches), eye issues, and other health issues, as well. Some, definitely worse than others. But, the latter part of your life can be so rewarding – much more so than your younger years because when it comes down to it, you are not worried about what others think. You are focused on what makes you happy.

In order to keep up with your happiness, you do need to make sure your health is in tip-top shape and if you haven’t been keeping up with your health in your prior years, it can be hard to jump back into, but it does not have to be challenging and I can help walk you through a few ways to improve your health as a senior, which will help you get started.

Medications + Vitamins, As Directed

While it is usually better to get your nutrients from food and not medicine, sometimes your body needs more vitamins and minerals that you can eat. Of course, if you can forgo pills and eat your nutrients instead, that is ideal, but always listen to your doctor! Calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin B6 are some vitamins you might want to consider taking, if necessary. Calcium keeps your bones strong, Vitamin D can come from the sunlight (but a lot of seniors do not get enough of it!), Vitamin B12 is harder to absorb from food, so usually a pill is better, and Vitamin B6 helps keep your red blood cells strong and healthy. In addition to vitamins, you need to make sure you are taking your regular medications each day, on time, as directed by your doctor.

Incorporating A Fitness Routine

When I say fitness routine, I don’t mean that you have to start high-intensity interval training or train to run a 10k – I just mean that everyone should have a fitness routine that is easy and seamless for them. This could be walking around your block once or twice a day, working out with a personal trainer once a week, going to a yoga class every Saturday morning, or even just walking your dog. Whatever it is – just stick with it from week to week. Web MD suggests walking. They say, “Aim for 30 minutes every day. If that’s too much, break it up into shorter strolls. Regular exercise — especially if you do it briskly enough to feel a little breathless — delivers huge health benefits. It helps keep brain cells healthy by delivering more blood and oxygen. In fact, research suggests aerobic exercise may delay or improve symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.”

Chiropractic Services

“Monroe Township chiropractor Anthony Alfieri, D.C., M.S. at AllCure Spine & Sports Medicine is one of the best chiropractors in the Monroe Township (Middlesex County) New Jersey area specializing in chiropractic care and wellness. Dr. Alfieri is a chiropractor committed to providing pain relief for many symptoms and conditions so that you can have a higher quality of life.” In addition to their Monroe Township location, AllCure Spine and Sports Medicine is opening in another location in early 2019, which is in Hamilton Township, New Jersey!

AllCure Spine & Sports Medicine is committed to helping you reach the quality of life that you have been looking for. They practice emerging, non-surgical treatments to provide long-lasting relief from pain, which is something that a lot of seniors struggle with. All of their physicians collaborate on all individual patient cases and decide which treatment approach would be most effective, so if you go in for Chiropractic services, you might also be introduced to physical therapy, or acupuncture, as well. Owner and clinic director, Dr. Anthony Alfieri “strongly believes in an integrated approach to physical rehabilitation and pain management. Having four different types of doctors under one roof is not only convenient for the patient, but it is helpful for treatment plans to allow for fast and effective outcomes. He feels that each patient’s experience with AllCure Spine & Sports Medicine will maximize their ability to not only get better but to stay better.”

A Group of Friends

Web MD says, “Loneliness is harmful to your health. If you feel lonely — whether you live alone or with someone, have lots of friends or none — you are more likely to get dementia or depression. Seniors who report feeling left out and isolated have more trouble with everyday tasks like bathing and climbing stairs. They also die earlier than less-lonely folks do. Researchers found that lonely people have higher levels of stress hormones that cause inflammation, or swelling, linked to arthritis and diabetes. Another study found more antibodies to certain herpes viruses in lonely people, a sign of stress in their immune system. So stay or make friends. Do volunteer work or simply help someone in need. Just connect.”

If you have a hard time connecting with a group of friends, consider your family instead! Try to set up weekly or bi-weekly get-togethers, even if it is just over a cup of tea or coffee, or over dinner. You will feel happier and healthier, too.
