Being more than a golden lady (a senior citizen @ 68), the desire to become a better blogger has never been more inspirational as these few months when I arrived NEW YORK. Really? Really! PARENTING
Parenting has taken various shades of meaning especially when the onset of Internet and Social Media in the forefront.
For one, a person can become a parent through various ways: by natural means like biologically having the baby;
For another, there is legal adoption; and
Still for another, there is symbiotic decision to care for a relative if only to provide basic needs and education.
As the demands of parenting increase in its impact, the styles of parenting come into the picture.

Back to this blogger, she became a parent at 26 years old. Her first born is a girl who brought happiness to her parents in 1977. The next children are all boys: Ben was born 1979; Nathan was born 1980; and Boni was born in 1984.
Parenting four (4) children and sending them to Ateneo Schools became some of the most vital factors why they grew up God-fearing, better God-loving and respectful to their parents.
Parenting is a lifetime task so our original number of 6 became 5 when the Head of the family, Boni Sr. died. The head of the family from then on was the mother who through the years, still wonder how she managed to make the children remain close to each other through thick and thin. Now, the family of five (5) has become six (6) and with the coming of the first grand child has become a family of seven (7).
Parenting styles go with the situation of the family. Every member contributes in deciding what style of helping each other develop holistically truly works. And it should not be forgotten that another member of the family: the family pet dog – Michael – two of them, one called Michael 1 during our Davao years and another one (named Michael 2) during our Malaybalay/Cagayan de Oro City stay.
With 2018 about to end, the Sabana-Aserios clan is grateful to God for the blessings.
I am a parent but I am not all alone in my parenting. Every member of the family contributes in making the house a home.

In the meantime, we gradually say goodbye to 2018 and eagerly await the coming of the NEW YEAR…2019.
