Birthdays happen everyday! Somebody here, there and everywhere is born or is celebrating the day of birth as a child, adolescent or adult. One’s birthday is a joyous event and is so momentous it is jubilantly well thought of either for a celebrator who is alive or has passed away.
This is the case of my beloved Mother or as we fondly called her, Nanay. March 4, 2016, a Friday, today here in the Philippines, is my Nanay’s birthday! A tribute from me comes in the form of this post via a poem of some sort. . .
Nanay Peding, a faithful wife to our Tatay Enciong
Nanay Peding, a loving mother to her 8 children
Nanay Peding, a generous neighbor to friends
Thank you Father God for the opportunity of her being.
One day at a time she would manage her home
When trials and tribulations seem to stay on
With her loving guidance she manages everyone
No one can fault her for hanging on.
So in my own simple way, I say
Happy Birthday to a great lady
A wife, a mom, a Nanay
I try to emulate in my own family.
God, please bless her today
With you, in your kingdom I pray
And Nanay, we pray to you
Watch over us from God’s Way.
We love you Nanay, Happy Birthday!!!
