Mall tours say much about what you like but cannot have

One description of  a city is the presence of malls. If a place is already a city but has no mall to show, it is not a city worth its salt. With malls, you expect a wide rang of amenities: huge supply of varied shoe, clothes, bag, kitchen ware, groceries. The presence of many people is enough to invite you to find out for yourself what’s up. Mall tours say much about what you like but cannot have.

Are all the displays needed in your life? You know in your heart most of the things we buy are not so vital in one’s life. Look at the many pairs of shoes that we have. We go for cheap ones because it is all we can afford but we are missing the point, for as long as you have one pair you can use, one pair is enough. We complain about the wares we use in the house but we miss the point, any simple plate, spoon, fork, cup and glass will do. Even the furniture we want to own especially the ones displayed in malls, we do not really need it but want it them for status symbol. Mall tours say much about what you like but cannot have because these are things we can live without.

So next time you go on mall tours, make it a tour for what it is – just looking – for already you have at home the persons who truly matter, the loved ones who give meaning to your life. If someday however, sooner rather than later, the family goes on mall tours they might decide what they like to have and can have – for a change!
