They say you will never really know any thing to its deepest level even if you have been in it, through it or over it. . . or so I say.
This was my experience one weekend. As a tourist, eyes wide opened with wherever we went and whatever caught my interest, some impressions were formulated in my mind.
- I was looking at all the sights with New York as my measure of glamour and excitement;
- New York City exudes lively, alive movements from people to establishments while Washington presents sedate, stately atmosphere from its architecture to atmosphere;
- Impressions are unfair and unrealistic to a certain degree because any well-meaning and reliable writer needs to spend more time to give justice to the places involved; and
- Apologies are in order. After all while New York City is the city that never sleeps; Washington is the capital of United States. There is really no comparison.
At-a-glance: New York City
Washington-at-a glance
It is thought provoking why a common feedback goes: “First impressions last.” I tend to agree because given an opportunity to choose where to live longer in a place, I would choose New York without “batting an eyelash” . . .
