First National Forum of Council Presidents for International Participation, Tagaytay, Philippines

Josefa Llanes Escoda is the heroine for all Girl Scouts in the Philippines. She is the founder of GSP. Born at the “tail-end of the Philippine Revolution on September 20, 1898” , the GSP marked her 100th birthday last September 20, 1998. Since today is already January 2016, we add 17 years so by September 20, 118 years old,. The main point is that we find in Josefa Llanes Escoda a heroine, a role model especially for the young girls who ardently need one. If you visit any GSP council office, you can get a copy of a book in her name, “Josefa Llanes Escoda, Portrait of a Heroine by Yolanda Canseco Hernandez.

In the over-all management structure of GSP, one is the position of the Vice-President for International Participation. While the GSP has existed for 75 years, like any human organization, it keeps on improving and responding to the challenges of the times. In this connection then, the need to hold a national forum for all Vice-Presidents for International Participation.  So there we were in the National Program and Training Center in Tagaytay City, Philippines last November 30-December 2, 2015 to convene. Take a look at some of its activities through pictures:
